Practical tips about
plant-based food
Dear visitor,
welcome to this website dedicated to plant-based food. The website is currently still under construction.
I hesitated for a long time over whether I would actually follow through on my intention to develop this website and blog. What role do I still have to play in the bigger picture, in these turbulent times of change? In the context of plant-based nutrition, where there is already a great deal to discover and read about in all sorts of forms, on the internet and on social media.

Why Peter Plant Power?
The domain name of this site may be Peter Plant Power, but this blog isn’t about Peter, nor is it about me personally. It’s about the power of plants and the benefits of a plant-based diet. And about the need to eat more plants, and fewer animals and their products. Here, I’ll show how I approach this in a practical and realistic way. I do hope that you’ll find useful and relevant information here.
Why in the form of a website?
One of the reasons for my reluctance to get started with this is my growing aversion, over the years, to social media, particularly Instagram. We live in times where just about anyone feels the need to throw whatever they think at as many people as possible. The whole of social media is an industry built on the systematic theft of our attention. And on top of that, of our personal data. And all this information is presented – preferably at breakneck speed – as if everything were urgent, important and constantly contentious. Because it’s no longer about the information itself, its accuracy, its usefulness or its relevance. It’s solely about the pathological quest for attention. And every possible means is employed to achieve this, including the creation of fake accounts that are 100% AI-generated. People spend many hours enslaved by the endless stream of rubbish information that keeps their brains constantly in fight-or-flight mode.
Don’t be a slave to your smartphone
It seems as though you no longer come across anyone on the street or elsewhere whose gaze isn’t fixed on their smartphone’s tiny screen. Phones are walking down the street, with people attached to them. Those people no longer notice what is happening in their physical surroundings. That is the sad reality of smartphone addiction. And that is why I have consciously chosen an old-fashioned website. You might come across it if you are actively seeking, of your own accord, specific information that is relevant to you and your life.
Yes, it still makes sense.
So, should I really still be investing time and energy in sharing information about a plant-based lifestyle? After much consideration, the answer is still: yes, it makes sense. After all, there’s still a great deal of misinformation circulating about plant-based eating. And, sadly, there are still oceans of ignorance amongst the general public regarding the importance of reducing the consumption of meat and animal products. The subject is more pressing than ever and continues to gain in importance. The more reliable sources there are, the better.
A website for conscious seekers
I don’t need to preach or convert anyone.
At the time of writing, I’ve had a website about yoga and plant-based eating for thirteen years now. However, the information about plant-based eating doesn’t really come into its own there. People find that site because of the yoga. I hope that with this new website I can focus my efforts more effectively. And I hope that more people who are curious and genuinely interested in the benefits of a plant-based diet will find the information more easily.
I hope that you, the visitor to this site, will be able to derive as many benefits and as much value as possible from the time you spend here. And I’m also open to tips and suggestions to further improve your experience.
